Activist Precious Oruche, popularly known as Mama Pee, on Friday allegedly attacked the factional national chairman of the Labour Party (LP), Julius Abure, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
According to a statement released on Saturday by LP’s national publicity secretary, Obiorah Ifoh, the incident occurred while passengers were waiting to board a Max Air flight to Benin, Edo State.
Mr Ifoh said the assault did not stop after boarding, as Oruche allegedly continued harassing Mr Abure throughout the flight despite interventions from the cabin crew.
“The attacker, Madam P, who is also a known content creator, continued the attack all through the flight, defying all attempts by the Max Air attendants to calm her. The assault, which attracted a large crowd, continued on disembarkation at the Benin Airport while she kept recording the scene,” Ifoh said in the statement.
Abure was later escorted to safety, while Oruche was taken into custody by security agents at the Benin Airport.
Police authorities in Edo State confirmed on Saturday that Oruche is in their custody.
