Actress Georgina Onuoha has raised concerns over the misuse of May Yul Edochie’s support community, popularly known as May Nation.
Georgina said the group was created to support May during her marital crisis with Nollywood actor Yul Edochie, but some individuals have now infiltrated the space and are engaging in harmful behaviour.
In a message on Instagram on Thursday, she said, “It saddens me that malicious individuals have infiltrated your community, using the ‘May Nation’ name to cause harm, issue threats, and provoke chaos. Someone close to me recently received a vile message threatening her children and family under this banner. Let me be very clear: that does not represent May, and it does not represent May Nation.”
She acknowledged that many members have shown genuine support for May but urged them to distance themselves from actions involving threats or harassment. Onuoha also called on members to ensure their conduct reflects the values they claim to stand for.
May Edochie gained public support after Yul Edochie confirmed his relationship and marriage to actress Judy Austin, which led to widespread social media reactions. The issue has remained a topic of online discussion, often drawing in third-party accounts.
In recent years, May has spoken out against cyberbullying and taken steps to challenge defamatory behaviour online. Georgina concluded by apologising to anyone harmed by actions wrongly carried out in May Nation’s name, stressing that such behaviour should not be linked to May or her supporters.
