Governor Seyi Makinde has inspected the ongoing reconstruction and rehabilitation of the 30-kilometre road from Okaka Junction to Igbojaye-Komu in the Itesiwaju Local Government Area of Oyo State.
In a social media post on Saturday, Makinde said the project was making good progress. He added that he also visited Kunle Afolayan’s KAP Film Village and Resorts during the trip.
The road project connects several communities in Oke Ogun and leads directly to the KAP Film Village and Resorts, a major hub for creative and tourism activities in the area.
“Earlier today, we were in Itesiwaju LGA to inspect the ongoing reconstruction/rehabilitation of the 30 km Okaka Junction-Otu-Igbojaiye-KAP Film Village Road. The project is making good progress. We also visited Kunle Afolayan’s KAP Film Village and Resorts,” Makinde wrote.
Kunle Afolayan wrote about the governor’s visit in a separate post on Sunday, describing it as a private courtesy visit to the film village and resort.
“Yesterday, we had the privilege of hosting the amiable governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde, for a private courtesy visit at @kapfilmvillageandresort where he further reassured us of his commitment to the development of Oke Ogun and Oyo State at large,” Afolayan wrote.
He added that several guests were present during the visit, including Sola Sobowale, Aisha Lawal, Seun Soyinka and Elizabeth Ayodele.
The KAP Film Village and Resorts was officially unveiled in April by Makinde at a ceremony attended by the minister of art, culture and the creative economy, Hannatu Musawa.
At the opening ceremony, the governor had promised to rehabilitate the access road to the facility, a commitment now being fulfilled with the ongoing reconstruction work.
