Actress Yewande Adekoya has shared details of a miscarriage she experienced in 2013, describing the moment as a turning point in her life and faith.
The 42-year-old opened up in a video posted on her Instagram page, where she recalled being rushed to the hospital after she began bleeding during her first pregnancy.
“A few years ago, I remember it was 2013. I was pregnant at the time. After some months, I started to bleed, so I was rushed to the hospital. I knew I was miscarrying, like I was about losing the baby,” she said.
According to Yewande, doctors later confirmed that the pregnancy had been lost and informed her that an evacuation procedure would be required the following day.
“They told me the baby had died and we needed to do an evacuation. I was so sad that I’d lost my baby. I cried all through the night,” she added.
She said she was given medication and later fell asleep, during which she had a vivid dream involving a man dressed like a doctor.
“In my dream, a man came to me. He was wearing white. He was dressed like a doctor. And then he came to me and said, ‘It is time,’” she said.
The actress explained that when she later woke up, the miscarriage had occurred naturally, making the planned medical procedure unnecessary. Hospital staff later confirmed that no further intervention was needed.
Reflecting on the experience, the actress said it strengthened her belief in God and helped shape her outlook on life.
“Can you confidently say there is no God?” she asked. “His ways might not be our way. Sometimes we don’t understand how he moves, but it’s our business to trust that he knows best.”
