Actress Lizzy Anjorin has addressed widespread reports claiming she was arrested following a petition by fellow actors including Iyabo Ojo.
The rumours began circulating during the weekend after Esabod claimed Lizzy had been taken into custody and remanded at the Alagbon Police Station in Lagos for alleged defamation of character. The post said her bail conditions would be reviewed on Monday.
In response, Lizzy took to her Instagram page in the early hours of Monday to deny the reports. She shared a video of herself at home and wrote:
“Believe Esabod and Iyabo Ojo at your own risk.”
The actress did not provide further details about any official complaint or police action but made it clear she was not in detention.
The online claims connected the alleged petition to Nollywood actors Toyin Abraham, Iyabo Ojo and Dayo Amusa. Those reports have not been confirmed by any law enforcement agency, and there is no official statement from the police indicating that Lizzy has been arrested or charged in relation to any petition.
Lizzy Anjorin and Iyabo Ojo have had public disagreements in the past. In recent years, the two actresses have traded accusations on social media and in court over unrelated matters, including defamation claims and lawsuits.
