Liz Da Silva questions Papa Ajasco name rights after Abiodun Ayoyinka’s appeal

Actress Liz Da Silva has reacted to the emotional appeal made by actor Abiodun Ayoyinka, popularly known for his role in the television sitcom Papa Ajasco.

Abiodun recently spoke about his financial struggles, revealing that despite his popularity from the show, he does not own a house or a car. The actor also said one of the major challenges affecting his career is that he does not have the full right to use the “Papa Ajasco” character outside the production that created it.

“That particular character has been registered,” he said. “Anybody that wants to use me outside usually wants the full character with everything that comes with it, but it has never been easy for me.”

“That’s why you don’t see me on adverts or billboards. I don’t have the right to use the name unless I go and take permission.”

Reacting on social media, Liz questioned the arrangement surrounding the use of the character’s name and expressed concern about the actor’s situation.

“@bondualaska_ is an account to follow now.

“Hmmm, it’s well, that’s all I have to say, the most painful part in what I’ve listened to is that (HE DOESN’T HAVE THE FULL RIGHT TO THE NAME HE WORKED FOR)
Yes, an agreement must have been signed towards that, but all the same, if you had given him a little right of name, things wouldn’t have been this difficult for Uncle. I guess. If he were your brother, would you have kept the name PAPA AJASCO forever and forever?
KA SHA MA SE DADA, I’ve tried to reach him, but there’s no response. I’ll try again after church, as I’ve dropped my message on WhatsApp for him

“There’s his number 08137808422”.

The actor also revealed that he retired about five years ago from his job with the Lagos State Council for Arts and Culture, which further affected his finances.

The Papa Ajasco series was created by filmmaker Wale Adenuga.
