Reality TV star and entrepreneur Leo DaSilva has knocked a social media user who tried to belittle his fiancée Maryam Laushi, claiming she is only “relevant” because of him.
The clash began on Friday when a troll on X, Neyenwa, mocked Maryam’s achievements.
She replied: “I will sell kunu if it’s profitable, my money is long, don’t worry yourself. My husband is at least notable, where is your relevant husband? Let’s leave my father’s properties before you curse yourself. Like I said, childish secondary school nonsense on display. Goodnight.”
The troll also responded, “My money is long” But it’s your husband’s money Your husband empowered you You only have a voice because your husband gave it to you Be grateful to that man and stop acting like you are some woke supporter of women You are only here for engagements please stfu”
Leo stepped in with a fiery defence on X, highlighting her independence: “You’re actually dangerously insane trying to belittle my wife. She has 2 masters degree! She will be employed till she chooses not to be! She always had her own voice even before she got married to me! She was already working when I met her. She is more than enough for me.”
He added: “My Google results are not as impressive as my wife’s own. She has put in a lot of work in the civil space, corporate space and family space. Na all rounder. I am always proud of her and her work. We are grateful to God for his blessings. If you are jealous, Ogun go k!ll you.”
Maryam, a development advocate, has built a strong professional profile in civic engagement and corporate sectors. The couple went public with their relationship in 2024, sharing pre-wedding photos that gained attention online.
Leo gained fame on Big Brother Naija.
