Actress Mercy Johnson has confirmed that she has withdrawn defamation charges against TikTok content creator Eedie Bliss.
In a video shared on her Instagram page on Monday, Mercy said she decided to drop the case after receiving calls and messages from people she and her husband respect. She thanked them for their support, saying their interventions had influenced her decision.
The 41-year-old said the legal issues were affecting her plans for the year because “certain individuals refused to leave her alone.” She added that neither she nor her family had wronged anyone and questioned why private matters were being targeted online. “False narratives and propaganda cannot define who I am,” she said.
“I’m letting this girl go. I’m dropping the case with this girl out of respect for people, my husband and I respect and love,” she said. She also claimed that some bloggers are paid to spread false stories, saying, “You don’t know that these bloggers are paid by actors. They can pay them to say whatever.”
The post was captioned, “For the love and respect we have for numerous individuals – We have decided to withdraw the charges against the lady in question. Please, you all should leave my family alone.

Eedie Bliss was released from police custody on Saturday after being held over a TikTok video posted in December 2025. In the video, she alleged that Mercy Johnson’s husband, Prince Okojie, bought a house for a pregnant mistress and claimed the actress conspired with the woman’s house help to cause a miscarriage.
Social media critic VeryDarkMan welcomed the withdrawal, noting that defamation should be treated as a civil matter, and called on Nigerians to stop harassing Mercy Johnson’s family.
