A student of the Nigeria Law School, Yola campus, identified as Ayomiposi Ojajuni, has died after reportedly taking his own life following his inability to sit for the bar final examination.
The incident occurred on Saturday, with news of his death breaking on Sunday.
According to sources within the institution, Ojajuni became distressed on Saturday morning after confirming that he would not be allowed to participate in the professional examination, which commenced that day.
He was alleged to have ingested a harmful substance shortly after receiving the news.
He was rushed to the Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital, Yola, where he died on Sunday morning.
Sources said the law school had barred him from the examination due to his failure to respond to multiple queries previously issued to him by the authorities.
The Nigeria Law School and security agencies have yet to issue an official statement on the development.
