Musician Bisade Ologunde, popularly known as Lagbaja, made a rare public appearance at Fireboy DML’s concert held at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Toronto, Canada on Monday night.
The 65-year-old thrilled fans with a live performance of ‘Back and Forth’, his collaboration with Fireboy from the singer’s 2024 album Adedamola.
Other guest performers at the show included Lojay and BNXN.
This marked one of Lagbaja’s most notable public performances since he surprised guests at the premiere of Everybody Loves Jenifa in Lagos on December 8, 2024.
The Afrobeats legend delivered a captivating set of his evergreen hits at the movie’s after‑party, reviving memories and lighting up the atmosphere.
Clips from the concert posted on social media show the crowd erupting with excitement as Lagbaja, known for his signature mask and Afrobeat fusion, hit the stage alongside Fireboy.
The concert also featured live renditions of Fireboy’s hit songs including ‘Peru’ and his 2025 single ‘Dopamine’.
Lagbaja, who has kept a low profile in recent years, was one of the most prominent Nigerian performers in the early 2000s with hits like ‘Konko Below’, ‘Never Far Away’, and ‘Gra Gra’.
Adedamola, released in August 2024, features other collaborations with acts such as Seun Kuti and Jon Batiste.
The Toronto concert is part of Fireboy’s international tour following the success of his fourth studio album.
