Actor Kunle Remi has slammed Nigeria’s leadership, calling for a state of emergency after a wave of attacks across the country.
On Instagram on Friday, he wrote, “Shame on leaders who have forgotten the fear of God. Shame on the hands that shed innocent blood. Shame on every spirit behind this terror. Shame on those who could stop this darkness but choose silence.
“May God judge every hidden deed. Shame.”
He captioned the post, “State of Emergency is not only when Rivers State is fighting over power. It’s when TERRORIST control your country.”
Kunle’s outcry comes amid fresh reports of violence.
Gunmen allegedly attacked Peter’s Foundation Secondary School in Doma LGA, Nasarawa State, abducting students in the early hours of Friday, while locals say schools in the area have been shut down.
In Niger State, armed men stormed St. Mary’s Catholic School in Papiri, Agwara LGA, abducting students and staff. The Catholic Diocese of Kontagora confirmed the attack, saying a security guard was shot and at least 52 students are missing. Police and military units have been deployed to rescue them.
In Kebbi State, 25 schoolgirls were kidnapped from Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School, Maga, with two already escaping. The school’s vice principal was reportedly killed during the raid.
