Actor Kolawole Ajeyemi has shown support for his wife Toyin Abraham following an encounter with fellow actress Funke Akindele.
The incident happened on Sunday at the premiere of The Return of Arinzo, a film by Iyabo Ojo. Video clips from the event show Toyin approaching Funke to greet her, but the latter ignored the gesture and kept her gaze elsewhere.
Toyin then greeted Iyabo and others before walking away.
One Instagram user who was reacting to the video wrote, “I advocate for peace a lot, but at this point, I’m done!!! Oluwatoyin, you are loved at home… Nothing do you omomi.” Kolawole responded to the post with a love emoji, a gesture seen as showing solidarity with his wife.
He also shared a post of his Instagram page which read, “Oluwatoyin Abraham aya mi 🤍 I love you @toyin_abraham thank you for always listening to me 👂 I know you want to talk but hmmmmmmm💔💔 Afi suru 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️ Thanks everyone God bless you all we love you”
Toyin responded, “Oshey Oko mi and I will always listen and obey you my small god. I love you forever 😍😍”
The exact cause of the tension between the actresses has not been officially confirmed, though reports of past disagreements have circulated for several years.
In 2024, Toyin spoke about how rumours fueled rivalry between her and Funke, causing unhealthy competition. Following the premiere incident, both actresses have unfollowed each other on Instagram.
