The Kogi State Government has announced the death of Justice Yahaya Adamu of the Kogi State High Court.
The announcement was made in a statement issued by the State Commissioner for Information Kingsley Fanwo.
Fanwo said the judge served in the state judiciary and contributed to the administration of justice.
“Until his demise, Justice Yahaya Adamu stood as a pillar of the judiciary, known for his commitment to justice and the rule of law,” the statement read.
He said the state made efforts to ensure the judge received medical care during his illness.
“During his period of illness, efforts were made to ensure he received medical care. Despite these interventions, his passing remains a loss to his family, the judiciary, and the state,” he said.
Kogi State Governor Ahmed Ododo also mourned the death of the judge.
Governor Ododo described him as “a voice in the temple of justice,” adding that his experience and service will be missed.
The state government expressed condolences to the family of the deceased, the judiciary and others affected by the loss.
