Kizz Daniel breaks silence after online backlash over Paris no-show event

Singer Kizz Daniel

Singer Kizz Daniel has broken his silence following the uproar at a show in Paris where he failed to perform, leaving fans disappointed.

The controversy trended in the early hours of Tuesday with many social media users criticising the singer and his team for the no-show.

In a post on his Instagram story, Kizz Daniel explained that the situation was out of his control, adding that it stemmed from a disagreement between his tour agent and the show promoter.

He wrote:
“FSHALAYE. First, this wasn’t my fault. Whatever clips you’re seeing is a dispute between my tour agent @olamidebaron and the show promoter. I was paid in full by @olamidebaron to perform in Paris. He sold the show to another promoter, who allegedly breached the contract by not paying the balance. I will be posting the notice of breach of contract.”

The ‘Buga’ singer also shared documents from Baron’s company acknowledging the cancellation of the event.

Giving more details about what happened, Kizz Daniel said he was ready to travel but could not make his flight because of the delay caused by his agent’s attempt to resolve payment issues.

“I’ve been ready since 6 am for a 12:25 pm flight. Thankfully, my brother @adesope_shopsydoo was with me at the hotel. We were delayed from flying by @olamidebaron so he could secure his payment, which I wasn’t aware of until later. The issue was eventually resolved with the promoter, but we missed our flight. The next available flight, according to Baron, was at 5:25 pm,” he said.

Kizz Daniel stressed that he was prepared to perform, noting that the missed performance was due to contractual and financial disputes between his agent and the promoter.

Kizz Daniel is currently on his Maverick tour which has taken him to several cities across Europe.
