American gospel singer Kirk Franklin was among the high-profile guests at the white wedding of Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, and Chioma Adeleke in Miami on Sunday.
The wedding, dubbed Chivido 2025, also had in attendance Nigerian musician D’Banj and actress Uche Jombo.
Guests were held to a black-tie and evening gown dress code, with an instruction not to wear white or cream as stated in the couple’s invitation.
Davido recently revealed he spent $3.7 million on the ceremony, which was the third phase of the couple’s wedding journey. They had a court wedding in March 2023 and a traditional ceremony in Lagos in June 2024.
Other notable faces at the Miami celebration included American rapper Rubi Rose, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote, Nigerian singers Zlatan Ibile, Adekunle Gold, Teni and B Red, producer Cobhams Asuquo, music video director Dammy Twitch and hypeman Poco Lee.
According to reports, some invited guests could not attend due to visa issues.
Highlights of the day included Davido gifting Chioma a Richard Mille diamond wristwatch worth over $1 million and wearing cufflinks engraved with the photo of his late son Ifeanyi.
During his vows, the 31-year-old said: “Chioma, I have been on many stages, but this is the most nervous I have ever been. You are my love, my peace, and my home. You saw the real me and you still chose me.”
