Actress and skit maker Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, popularly known as Kiekie, has expressed deep gratitude to God as she celebrated her birthday on Friday.
The mother of one shared new photos of herself on Instagram, accompanied by a heartfelt message in which she appreciated God for His love, protection, and blessings upon her life.
She wrote:
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY OLUWABUKUNMI, THE PEARL QUEEN! 😍😉. This is my Era of Generational riches and wealth. Also we call this era, iyalalaya anybody!”
Kiekie reflected on the journey so far, thanking God for the love in her life and the multiple platforms she has thrived in.
“Year in year out I’m super grateful to God for this good life he has given me. The love I was born into, the ones I met and grew into and the one I gave birth to. I’m grateful for it all. 🥰🙏🏽🙏🏽
“I’m grateful for the talents and the spaces I occupy. The hosting, the acting, the content creation, the fashion designing, the influencing and the brands. I’m grateful for it all. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽,” she wrote.
Kiekie, known for her humorous content and vibrant personality, also acknowledged her imperfections while praising God for His consistent favour and protection.
“I know I’m not the most righteous before you Lord! Yet you Favour me soooo much, bless me endlessly and above all protect me jealously. My Father and maker, I’m eternally grateful to YOU. 🙌🏽🙏🏽”
She then declared blessings for her new year, invoking the name of the Holy Trinity.
“I open my new year in the name of the father, (somebody give me a loud AMEN!) in the name of the Son and of the Holy Spirit! AMENN!!”
In the same post, the 34-year-old paid tribute to her late sister, Adepero Agbaje, whose picture she included in the birthday post.
“Happy posthumous birthday to my sister girl Adepero as well. Together forever we shall celebrate 🥹💕💕💕”
Kiekie is one of the leading female content creators in Nigeria. In addition to comedy skits, she is a TV host, fashion entrepreneur and actress. She gained widespread recognition for her skits that blend English and Yoruba, and has since hosted major events such as the 2022 Trendupp Awards and the 2023 Glo Battle of the Year.
The University of Ibadan graduate, who also studied fashion at the London College of Fashion, welcomed her first child in November 2022 with her husband, whom she prefers to keep out of the spotlight.
Her late sister, Adepero Agbaje, passed away in 2023. Kiekie has previously spoken about the pain of the loss, describing Adepero as a close friend and confidante.
