KieKie, Broda Shaggi, Fisayo Fosudo, Sisi Yemmie and Joey Akan have been honoured among the 100 media innovators recognised at the 10th edition of the New Media Conference (NMC) held on September 25, at The Podium Event Centre, Lagos.
The NMC 100 List celebrates individuals and organisations that have shaped Nigeria’s digital media landscape over the past decade, acknowledging their contributions across journalism, content creation, technology and community building.
In the digital content creation category, Funke Akindele, Ruth Kadiri, Broda Shaggi, Taaooma, Nons Miraj, and KieKie were recognised for their creative storytelling, while investigative journalist Fisayo Soyombo, The Cable, and Premium Times were honoured for promoting truth and accountability.
Community builders such as Uche Pedro of BellaNaija, Nkem Onwudiwe of Her Network, Oluwatosin Olaseinde of Money Africa, Enioluwa Adeoluwa, and comedian Mr Macaroni were celebrated for fostering vibrant online communities.
Tech innovators Iroko TV and TechPoint Africa were also recognised for leveraging technology to transform media consumption, while marketing agencies including ID Africa and Wild Fusion earned accolades for redefining brand communication in the digital space.
Delivering the keynote address, titled “From Disruption to Dominance,” Wakanow and Onburd CEO Bayo Adedeji urged media professionals to focus on sustainable innovation that can position Africa for global influence.

This year’s event, themed “A Decade of Disrupting New Media: Shaping Africa’s Future,” marked ten years of the conference’s impact in driving conversations around digital transformation in Africa.
Founded in 2015, the New Media Conference has grown into a major gathering for media professionals, innovators and entrepreneurs.
The 2025 edition was supported by ProvidusBank, Lagos State Tourism, Wakanow, Onburd, BlackHouse Media, ID Africa, Blanche PR, TechPoint Africa, Zikoko, and BellaNaija, among other partners.
