Controversial Journalist Kemi Olunloyo has reacted to a video and press briefing by businessman billionaire Deji Adeleke on the paternity controversy involving his son, singer Davido and a teenage girl identified as Anuoluwapo.

The issue resurfaced after a social media account linked to the girl appealed to Davido to submit to another DNA test.

Davido and his family have maintained that previous DNA tests excluded him as the child’s father.

Speaking during a press briefing on Wednesday, Dr Adeleke said multiple DNA tests had been conducted and that the results showed Davido is not the father of the girl.

He said the family would have accepted the child if the tests had shown otherwise.

Adeleke said he first became aware of the claim in 2014 after receiving a package from Ibadan containing photographs, a birth certificate and a letter from the child’s grandmother.

According to him, a DNA test was arranged in Lagos, with samples sent to South Africa, and the result showed zero percent probability of paternity. He said two additional tests were later conducted, which produced the same result.

He declined calls for the DNA reports to be made public, saying, “It is dangerous for anyone’s DNA profile to be in the public domain.”

Reacting to the video on TikTok, Olunloyo criticised Adeleke for mentioning her and her son while addressing the issue.

“I opened the Instagram page for Anu because I want her to have her individuality and I handed the account back to the mum in 2019,” she said.

“You sat down there and you were talking about my son. What do you know about my son? He is not on social media and he is autistic. Leave my name out of it. It is Davido that should be addressing this issue.”

Olunloyo said she does not accept anyone involving her son in public controversies.

She also disputed claims attributed to her about impersonation, saying she had previously clarified the issue.

She further alleged that only one DNA test was conducted for Davido and challenged claims of multiple tests.

“All we want is for you to establish the girl’s identity and let her go. You don’t know what she will become tomorrow,” she said.

Olunloyo also spoke about Anu’s mother, identified as Ayo, saying she was told that Davido was the person she slept with and that she communicated directly with him.

Olunloyo claimed her own investigation suggested Davido used another person’s phone to communicate.

She said her involvement was driven by concern for the child’s welfare.

“I want Anu to live a good life,” she said. “I opened an account for her and I have been saving money. She will have access to it when she turns 18.”

Olunloyo added that she attempted to raise funds for the girl and paid for her first year in school.

In his briefing, Adeleke also denied Olunloyo’s claim that she had close ties to his family.

“She says she was my wife’s best friend. I have never met her,” he said.

He urged the public to ignore online narratives surrounding the controversy.
