Actress Oluwakemi Ojo, popularly known as Kemi Korede, has expressed deep gratitude to God as she built a new house for her parents.
The mother of three shared the news in an Instagram post on Tuesday, alongside a video documenting the start and end of the building.
Kemi Korede described the moment as emotional, stating that handing over the house to her parents was a dream come true.
She wrote: “I am filled with immense gratitude as I share this dream come true. I’ve been building a house for my parents, and by Allah’s grace, I finally handed it over to them. This moment is emotional for me because it’s something I’ve always wanted to do for my beloved parents.
“They are my everything, and I’m so thankful for the strength to complete this project. I am also thankful to my siblings for their unwavering support. This is not just a house; it’s a symbol of our love, unity, and gratitude. Alhamdulillah for everything.”
Kemi Korede, who trained and worked as a nurse before fully venturing into acting, joins the list of Nollywood actors who have built homes for their parents. In 2020, actress Bimbo Afolayan also built a house for her mother.
Korede made her movie debut in Omobewaji (2006) and gained recognition for her roles in Yoruba films such as Afi ibi Solore and Ile Olorogun. She has worked alongside notable industry figures like Funke Akindele, Faithia Williams and Mercy Aigbe and has served as a brand ambassador for skincare products.
