Kehinde Bankole marks 20 years since Super Story breakthrough

Actress Kehinde Bankole has marked two decades in the movie industry with gratitude to God, her family, fans and colleagues.

On Saturday, the Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti star shared photos of herself glammed up on Instagram, describing the milestone as “overdue.”

“Over 20 years of lights, camera and unforgettable moments on stage! From stage to screen, every chapter made possible by God and you,” she wrote.

The 39-year-old thanked her family, WAP TV, fans, friends, producers and directors who trusted her with roles. She also appreciated award bodies and investors who contributed to her growth.

In a video posted earlier, Kehinde reflected on her early start. “Wow… I can’t believe it’s been 20 years in the film industry! I have to thank Allerdinger Productions for giving me that Super Story — truly my claim to fame,” she said, referring to her breakout role as Caro in Super Story: Everything It Takes.

Kehinde, who studied Mass Communication at Olabisi Onabanjo University, first came into the limelight as a beauty queen. She competed in Miss Commonwealth Nigeria in 2003 and later Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria in 2004 before venturing fully into acting.

In 2007, she became a Lux ambassador and has since featured in several Nollywood productions. Her credits include Dear Affy, Sista, Blood Sisters and the acclaimed biopic Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti.

Kehinde, who has a twin sister Taiwo, remains one of the respected faces in Nollywood, balancing acting with modeling and TV presenting.
