Kayode Peters’ wife, Kunle Remi, others celebrate filmmaker’s 50th birthday three months after death

Alexandra Peters, wife of the late actor and filmmaker Kayode Peters, actor Kunle Remi and other colleagues are celebrating what would have been the filmmaker’s 50th birthday, three months after his death.

They took to Instagram on Friday to pay heartfelt tributes and celebrate his life and legacy.

Alexandra Peters wrote, “My Angel, today would have been your Birthday here, but 89 days later Heaven decided you should have a ‘Heavenly ball’ instead and now I find myself having to write to you in Heaven. Smh 💔. I still ask myself so many questions without trying to find the answers… Today I pray the Host of Heaven smother you with hugs and praises as we remember the day God gave this world a Beautiful soul like you. You weren’t just my Husband. You were our home, my constant, my True Friend. You filled our lives with a love so deep it made everything lighter… Happy Heavenly Birthday, Angel Kay. Our Hero. My Angel. Love always Sug 👑, Till we meet again. ❤️”

Kunle Remi also shared, “Happy heavenly 50th birthday King KP. Will always be grateful for the time spent together. Our love and prayers with your family. We dey here for Alexis and your babies. But Baba mii, I get plenty gist o… Lekki flood again… I don shoot 2 films, I dey produce another… plenty gist about fatherhood… Anyways, keeping all the gist till we see later.”

Other colleagues, including Oyindamola Sanni and Ayo Adesanya, joined in the tributes.

Kayode Peters, who died on June 28, in Toronto, Canada, left behind a legacy in Nollywood with works like Papa Ajasco & Company, My Flatmates, 13 Letters and Crazy Grannies.
