Kano police arrest two over attack on Lil Kesh

The Kano State Police Command has arrested two men over the attempted murder and armed robbery of singer Lil Kesh.

Police spokesman SP Abdullahi Haruna said the suspects, Mathew Adewole, 25, of Na’ibawa Quarters and Mukhtar Muhammad, 31, of Unguwa Uku Quarters, were arrested on September 11 following credible intelligence.

SP Haruna said upon arrest, the suspect, Adewole confessed to attacking Lil-Kesh, forcing him and transferring N2,120,000 from his account via his mobile phone, to Muhammad’s account.

The incident happened on August 19 at Lil Kesh’s residence in Bera Estate, Chevron, Lagos.

Haruna said the case was transferred to the Lagos State Police Command for further investigation and prosecution.

Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Bakori commended his men for the operation and assured residents of Kano that the command would continue to intensify intelligence gathering and community policing.

Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun has also called for closer collaboration among state commands to ensure criminals who flee across state lines are promptly apprehended.

Lil Kesh, born Keshinro Ololade, rose to fame under Olamide’s YBNL Nation with hits like Shoki and Efejoku. He now runs his own record label, YAGI Records.
