The Supreme Court has adjourned till Tuesday the hearing of 13 appeals filed against governorship elections held in six states.

The appeals are against the elections of Governors Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto, Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano, Emeka Ihedioha of Imo, Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, Simon Lalong of Plateau, and Samuel Ortom of Benue.

Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Tanko Muhammad, adjourned hearing on the appeals on Monday on grounds that an unnamed member of the seven-man panel was ill.

The CJN had earlier suspended hearing on the appeals due to rowdiness and court congestion.
