Jennifer Awele, the wife of late actor Junior Pope, has shared a personal account of the day she received news of his death.
In a post on Instagram on Friday marking the anniversary, she shared a photo of her husband and wrote about the moment she was informed of the incident.

“I Was Driven To The Scene And Saw The Very Massive Crowd And Some Were Asking Why Was I Brought There…..I Was Still Trying To Understand What Was Going On And A Black Hilux Drove Past Me With My Husband Lying Lifeless In It’s Trunk With Same Red Shorts He Wore When He Left The House At About 10am That Morning…I Screamed JESUSSSSS Which I’m Sure Heaven Heard The Echo…It Was A Whole Lot That Evening….When He Was Finally Pronounced,,For Some Reason The Doctor Checked By BP And It Was Over 210 Thereabout…I Was Immediately Admitted

Junior Pope, whose real name was Johnpaul Odonwodo, died on April 10, 2024 after a boat accident on the River Niger while returning from a movie location. He was travelling with other members of a film crew when the boat capsized.
He is survived by his wife and their children.
