Minister of industry, trade and investment, Jumoke Oduwole, has paid a condolence visit to the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, on the death of his mother, Lydia Yilwatda.
The 51-year-old shared pictures of her visit in an Instagram post on Sunday,
According to her, the visit was to express her sympathy over the chairman’s loss.
She wrote, “This evening, I paid a visit to our party’s national chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, to extend my heartfelt condolences on the passing of his beloved mother.”
She noted that the visit also gave her an opportunity to congratulate Yilwatda on his new role as chairman of the ruling party.
“At the same time, I congratulated him on his recent emergence as the national chairman of our great party, the APC,” she added.
Mrs Oduwole further prayed for strength for Yilwatda as he mourns his mother.
In her words, “I pray that God grants him the strength to bear this loss and the wisdom to excel in his new role.”
She concluded by pledging her support and solidarity.
“As he steps into this great responsibility, we stand firmly with him in support and solidarity for the progress of our party and our nation.”
Mama Yilwatda died on Sunday, August 17, at the University of Jos Teaching Hospital at the age of 83.
Nentawe Yilwatda, who hails from Plateau State, was elected APC national chairman in July following the resignation of former Kano State governor, Abdullahi Adamu.
He was the party’s gubernatorial candidate in Plateau during the 2023 general elections.
