Joseph Yobo’s in-law, Hope Akpan, welcomes baby girl with reality TV star

Nigerian international, Hope Akpan, has welcomed a baby girl with his girlfriend, Malia Arkian, known for participating in British dating reality show, Love Island.

The child named Halo was born on October 25.

Akpan, 28, who plays for Bradford City, posted pictures of his daughter on Instagram.

The former Everton player wrote: “My greatest and latest inspiration. Born 25th October weighing 7.7 pounds. Thank you God for a safe delivery, her and mum did amazing. Welcome to the world my precious Halo. Divine aura of light.”

Malia also shared a series of snaps of her adorable newborn, writing: “Welcome To The World Baby Halo Dreams do come true, we are eternally grateful!

“Thank You God Born 25th October 12:45pm weighing 7.7 Pounds Still speechless & overwhelmed with love.”

Born to Nigerian parents in England, in 2013 Akpan declared his intention to represent Nigeria at international level.

He received his first call-up to the national team in October 2014 and made his debut on October 15, 2014 in an African Cup of Nations qualifying match.

Akpan is an in-law to former Super Eagles captain, Joseph Yobo.

His younger sister, Blessing, got married to Yobo’s younger brother, Gideon, in 2015.

Malia found fame in 2016 on season two of Love Island where she was removed from the show on her first day following an altercation with another female contestant.
