Actress Joke Silva has lost her brother John Silva.
The 63-year-old broke the news in an Instagram post on Thursday, sharing a picture of him alongside a tribute.
“With acceptance of Gods Sovreign will …we announce the call to Glory of my dear brother John Olabiyi Silva …long John Silva…Bros B…Uncle B….my easy go lucky brother. Rest in peace. January 22nd 1953-August 29th 2025.🕊🕊🕊🤍🙏🏾,” she wrote.
John was 72.
The sad news comes amid a string of recent tragedies in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
On Tuesday, it was reported that
actress Peju Ogunmola lost her only child Ayomikun Oluwanisola.
Ayomikun’s record label, Fortune Flip Entertainment, has announced a candlelight procession in his honour on Thursday, at Ring Road, Ibadan.
Also on Monday, TikTok comedian Sanku Comedy, died in a car crash along the Oyo–Ogbomoso Road.
His last TikTok video, posted hours before the crash, has since gone viral. In it, he prayed, “When it’s time for us to enjoy wat we worked hard for may we never lost our life.”
