JJC Skillz’s Hakeem: Seeking Justice grosses N23m in opening weekend

Filmmaker Abdulrasheed Bello, popularly known as JJC Skillz, is celebrating the success of his latest movie Hakeem: Seeking Justice, which has grossed N23 million in its first weekend at the cinemas.

JJC shared the good news on Instagram on Monday alongside a poster of the film, describing it as the highest-grossing Nollywood film of the weekend.

The action drama, which premiered in cinemas nationwide on August 1, tells the story of Hakeem, an ex-special forces officer who seeks justice after the tragic loss of his family.

Directed by JJC Skillz and co-written with Leo Oji, the film stars Deyemi Okanlawon, Chioma Chukwuka, Zubby Michael, Gabriel Afolayan, Bolanle Ninalowo, Regina Daniels, Ali Nuhu, Liquorose, Skales and White Money.

It was produced by JJC Skillz and Mustapha Mamudu under Afristar Studios and distributed by FilmOne Entertainment.

JJC, who is making his directorial debut with the project, previously described the movie as “more than a story,” adding that it is a stand for justice, healing, and transformation.
