Jerry Eze recounts doubting God after quitting UN job for ministry

Jerry Eze

Founder of Streams of Joy International, Jerry Eze, during a live conversation with Chude Jideonwo at the premiere of #WithChude Live on Sunday, shared how deeply uncertain he once was about starting a church.

Eze recalled leaving his work with the World Bank and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to start a church in Umuahia.

“One month after I resigned, I thought I had made the biggest mistake of my life,” he admitted.

“I kept wondering, is this God? Can God really make me jobless?”

Eze continued, “If you’ve been tempted, someone wants to know how tempted were you. If you’ve ever tried to give up, someone wants to know how you tried to give up.”

Eze also spoke about the rise of his now-popular prayer platform, NSPPD.

“It wasn’t even called NSPPD at first. We just prayed. I didn’t know people could be famous for praying.”

He revealed that the fiery persona people see online is not his natural self.

“I’m very calm. People struggle to reconcile the ‘Fire!’ guy with the quiet me.”

On the topic of healing and faith, Eze clarified he never discourages medical care, but shared testimonies from medical consultants who verified healing cases on NSPPD.

“God is real,” he said firmly.
