Former Lagos governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, on Tuesday visited Olubadan-designate Rashidi Ladoja ahead of his coronation as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.

In a social media post after the visit, Jandor congratulated the former Oyo governor on his impending installation, describing him as “not only a custodian of tradition but also a statesman of remarkable stature who has left indelible footprints in governance and public service.”

Ladoja, who governed Oyo State from 2003 to 2007 on the platform of the PDP, was briefly removed from office in 2006 following impeachment before he was reinstated 11 months later.

Jandor said Ladoja’s experience in leadership, coupled with his understanding of people and culture, makes his ascension to the Olubadan stool “both timely and significant.”

“As a Mentee to the new Olubadan, I am confident that his reign will not only consolidate the cultural heritage of Ibadan people but also contribute meaningfully to the broader progress of Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole,” Jandor wrote.

Ladoja’s coronation as the 44th Olubadan is scheduled for September 26.
