Actor Jamiu Azeez has shared his joy after veteran actress Opeyemi Aiyeola forgave him, calling it his “best gift of 2025.”
In an Instagram post on Wednesday, Jamiu wrote that his sister had forgiven him, and he thanked his fans and colleagues for their support. He said he was especially grateful to his industry fathers and mothers who intervened on his behalf.
He added that he was thankful to Opeyemi for giving him another chance. “To my dearest sister, mother, boss, mentor, number one fan, cheer leader and favorite of all time, thank you ma for forgiving me and also giving your boy another chance, you are indeed ABIYAMO,” he wrote.
Reflecting on the lesson he learned, Jamiu said: “May God never leave nor forsake you ma. Thank you so much momma, your boy has learnt his lessons in a very hard way. I am truly sorry and sincerely remorseful for my actions.”
He also asked fans to pray for Opeyemi on his behalf, saying: “Please fam, help me visit her page to say a word of prayer for her on my behalf. You all made this possible.”
Opeyemi, a respected figure in Nollywood for over two decades, has been recognised for mentoring younger actors. She survived emergency surgery in 2024 and continues to inspire colleagues with her resilience and dedication to the industry.
The reconciliation between Azeez and Aiyeola has been welcomed by fans and colleagues who value respect and mentorship in Nollywood.
