Actress Iyabo Ojo’s film The Return of Arinzo has recorded N104.8 million at the box office in its opening weekend.
Distribution company FilmOne Entertainment announced the figures in a joint Instagram post with the actress on Monday.
The post read, “Return of Arinzo is back… and it came with a banger!
“N104.8M in its opening weekend,
biggest Easter opening,
and the highest-grossing film of the weekend.
“But beyond the numbers, this is what it looks like when a story connects… when people see themselves on screen and show up for it ❤️
“West Africa, you didn’t just watch you showed up, you filled the cinemas, you made it a moment.
“The Return of Arinzo is doing more than a run… it’s making a statement!”
The Return of Arinzo was released in cinemas on April 3.
The film is a sequel that continues the story of its central character, Arinzo.
