Actress Iyabo Ojo has visited the graveside of her late mother, Victoria Fetuga, to mark her fifth remembrance.

The 47-year-old shared a video from the visit on Instagram on Thursday, describing the pain of her mother’s death as still fresh.

“It’s been 5 years, but your loss feels like it’s still fresh,” she wrote. “Continue to rest in peace, sweet mama. Love you till eternity.”

Iyabo was joined by her siblings during the quiet memorial, where they laid flowers and spent time praying at the graveside.

Mrs Fetuga died in her sleep on November 21, 2020, at the age of 67.

Iyabo announced the death at the time with an emotional message that read in part: “My mother, my jewel, my guardian, my pearl… mama, you might be gone but we your children and grandkids would make sure your memories remain and linger on.”

Since her mother’s death, the Real Housewives of Lagos star has made it a tradition to visit the graveside on anniversaries and birthdays. She last visited in April to mark what would have been her mother’s 71st posthumous birthday, writing: “Happy posthumous birthday my darling mom… Keep watching us.”

Her colleagues and fans have continued to send in condolence messages as she marks the fifth year without her mother.
