Actress Iyabo Ojo has accused her colleague Lizzy Anjorin of taking her and her children’s names to a herbalist and laying curses on them.
The 47-year-old made the allegations in an Instagram video shared on Friday while responding to claims by Lizzy that a defamation case filed against her had been dismissed.
Iyabo, however, clarified that the case was not struck out but had not entered trial stage because it was still at the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) level.
“What we went for was ADR; we have not started any case,” she said.
“The ADR judge threw the case out because she had already told us to settle the case amicably, and I respect her a lot, but Lizzy Anjorin had never stopped dragging me and my family.”
Iyabo said the judge initially stepped down from handling the matter due to discomfort, but Lizzy allegedly influenced the case being brought back to the same court.
“Lizzy Anjorin transferred the case back to her court, but the woman doesn’t feel comfortable to do the case. So for whatever reason best known to her, she threw out that case, but we haven’t started.
“We haven’t started; we haven’t presented any witnesses or both gone into the witness box, so we haven’t started any case at all.”
The mother of two said her problem with Lizzy began because of the false accusations the latter made against her.
“You and I are not friends; we are just colleagues, and I don’t owe you who I’m supposed to be close with,” she said.
“You have constantly dragged people who are close to me. The only reason I took you to court is because of all the defamatory things and accusations you have levelled against me. There’s nothing you have not accused me of.
“You need to come and tell the whole world whose child got married recently that you want to kill with voodoo. You are the one that curses my children, my son-in-law, and my man constantly.”
Iyabo also warned that Lizzy should be held responsible if anything bad happens to her or her daughter.
“I should be the one in the position to tell you, if anything happens to me and my daughter, you should be held responsible,” she said.
The actress added that Lizzy once told the court that her issue with Iyabo was due to her association with people bullying her online, not because of any personal attack from Iyabo herself.
Iyabo’s statement comes shortly after a fire incident destroyed her office in Lekki, Lagos. Though she did not directly accuse anyone, she said her safety and that of her family was now a concern.
The N1 billion suit, filed in 2023, accused Lizzy Anjorin of defamation and cyberbullying. While Lizzy recently took to social media to celebrate what she called a court victory, Iyabo insists the matter is yet to be heard in court.
