Gospel singer Tope Alabi has welcomed her first grandchild after her daughter, Ayomikun Alabi, delivered a baby girl.
Ayomikun shared the news on her Instagram page on Friday, posting maternity photos to announce the birth.
Tope, who is now a grandmother, also shared a picture of herself holding the baby. She wrote, “I’m eternally grateful to God for this joyful addition to my family. Indeed Ayomiku, ayo si kun inu mi.
“My beautiful, strong girl @the_ayomikualabi_ I am so proud of the woman and mother you have become.
“Welcome to the world, my darling grandchild, I have dreamt of holding you for so long and now I’m showering you with kisses as I watch you grow. Being your grandma is my new favourite role. Big congratulations to the Bantales.”
Ayomikun is Tope Alabi’s first child. Ayomikun got married to Oluwole Bantale in March 2025 in a private ceremony attended by family and close friends.
Tope Alabi is one of Nigeria’s most prominent gospel singers, known for songs such as ‘Angeli Mi’, ‘Kabiyesi’, and ‘Yes and Amen’. She has been active in gospel music for several decades and is also known for her work as a film soundtrack singer and worship leader.
