Actor and producer Yekini Ibrahim, widely known as Itele, has reached a major milestone with his latest film King of Lamba on YouTube.
The movie hit more than 1 million views within its first 24 hours of release, Itele announced on his Instagram page on Sunday.
In his post, he wrote: “They said it’s not KOLEOSO.…… But the fans said, ‘We’re still here! 1 MILLION+ views in just ONE DAY for KING OF LAMBA. This is more than numbers. This is loyalty. This is movement. This is family. Thank you for riding with me every single time, humble and grateful.”
King of Lamba joins a growing number of Nollywood films released directly on YouTube that are finding large audiences online.
Itele’s previous film franchise Koleoso also performed strongly on YouTube. The Koleoso series became the first Nollywood title to surpass 100 million views on the platform, driven by multiple episodes with millions of views each.
