Isaac Fayose, younger brother of former Ekiti State governor Ayodele Fayose, has shared a video of himself spending time with his son hours after revealing that his wife is battling cancer.
In a post on Instagram on Monday, Mr Fayose showed his son explaining his gaming gadgets to him.
He wrote, “Quality time with my son. It is looking like I have to be daddy and mummy at the same time. God doesn’t give us a burden we can’t carry. Staying strong together as commanded by God.”
On Sunday, Fayose shared a video in which he said his wife is ill with cancer. He said he travelled to Australia to visit his family and met her in a weak condition.
He said she could not welcome him as she used to when he arrived. He added that he took a ride home and prepared food while she lay on the bed.
Fayose said he sat beside her and sang her favourite hymn “Abide with Me” in English and Yoruba.
He said, “My wife has cancer and she’s not feeling well. When I got here, my wife was so weak she couldn’t even turn to say welcome Isaac. My wife normally picks me up at the airport, but this time I end up taking Uber. She cooks for me. I end up cooking for her. She couldn’t cook, she couldn’t talk.”
Isaac Fayose also spoke about his situation and said money could not change what he was facing.
“Our one-million-dollar house couldn’t save my wife. My wealth couldn’t save my wife. She was lying there. Why make others poor? My own money couldn’t even save my wife,” he said.
He also addressed President Bola Tinubu, saying the country needs attention and that people are facing challenges.
Several public figures reacted in the comment section, including Davido, Shina Peller, Betty Irabor and JustAdetoun, who sent messages of support.
Davido wrote, “Stay strong baba,” while Shina Peller said, “God is in control. Stay strong bro.”
Activist JustAdetoun also reacted, writing, “I’m broken. Empathy is priceless.”
