Actress and singer Bukunmi Oluwasina on Friday melted hearts on social media after sharing a touching letter dedicated to her daughter.
The 35-year-old posted a carousel of photos on Instagram, showing adorable moments with her daughter. In the final slide, Bukunmi included a heartfelt piece titled “Dearest Little Light Of Mine,” a poetic letter chronicling her journey from childbirth to motherhood, and expressing her deep love and gratitude for her child.
She captioned the post:
“Daughter of my youth and old age 🥰🤍🖤🍹
Trying to pick my fav slide. Which one is yours?
#thankful”
In the emotional letter, Bukunmi wrote, “Been in the labour room, still feels like yesterday. Your dad and the doctor were the first to see your face. Watching you and dad cry that day, took all my pain away.”
The singer recalled how her daughter’s birth brought immense joy and healing to both her and her husband, stating:
“Today, I was the one happily crying, watching you and Daddy smile. As you shine, like a blossom, full of life.”
She also reflected on the divine blessing of motherhood, adding:
“I heard God made mums, because he can’t be everywhere. I’m glad he assigned me to a treasure so rare.”
Bukunmi revealed her husband’s favourite song is ‘Beautiful Things’ by Benson Boone, as it reminds him of her. She, on the other hand, said every love song reminds her of her daughter:
“’Cos I see you in them, every time I sing. In your eyes, my future’s bright.”
The letter ends with a moving declaration:
“Dearest little light of mine, I hope you know I feel so blessed, to guide you, love you, and be your nest.”
The post sparked emotional reactions from fans and colleagues who flooded the comment section with praise for the actress’s heartfelt tribute and the beautiful bond she shares with her daughter.
Bukunmi, known for her roles in Yoruba-language films such as Ayomi, Citation, and Jagun Jagun, welcomed her daughter in March 2021 after marrying her longtime partner in September 2020. She has kept much of her family life private, occasionally giving glimpses into her journey through music and film.
