I’m not a womaniser – Timini Egbuson

Actor Timini Egbuson has debunked long-standing claims that he is a womaniser, saying his lifestyle and work schedule do not support such behaviour.

Speaking on The Culture League podcast with footballer Victor Boniface and comedian Bovi, the 38-year-old said he has been “technically single” for the past two to three years, focusing more on his acting career than romantic relationships.

“A lot of people assume that I’m a womaniser. But I’m not. In the past two, three years, Nollywood has taken over my life in a way that there’s no room, except you will be the most unserious [to womanise],” he said.

He explained that his typical day is consumed by long hours on set, often ending around 11 p.m., which leaves him exhausted and uninterested in dating, let alone juggling multiple women.

“I admire my friends who can manage multiple relationships, but that life isn’t for me,” he added.

“I even wonder how some of my friends who womanise, date four or five girls simultaneously, have time to attend to all of them. Because from being on set all day to getting back tired at 11 pm, I will now start chatting a lady? I don’t have the capacity for that. So, I’m not in the street as people may think I am.”

Although Timini admits he enjoys the public perception of him as a “bad boy,” he insists that image doesn’t reflect his reality.

“I find it entertaining, but that’s not my real life,” he said.

Over the years, the Big Love actor has been linked to several women in the entertainment industry, fuelling speculations about his love life. One of the most talked-about relationships was with Lydia Balogun, which ended in 2021 after sparking online controversy due to their age gap. Timini later defended himself, saying their relationship was consensual and that both parties had their faults.

He has also been linked with actresses such as Sharon Ooja, Dorcas Fapson, and Bimbo Ademoye. However, all parties have denied any romantic involvement, stating their friendships and on-screen chemistry were purely professional.
