Singer Omah Lay has left fans worried after making a disturbing post about his mental health.
The Soso crooner took to Instagram on Monday to write:
“God please help I’m loosing my mind again.”
In another post, he ranted about his frustrations with the music business, saying:
“Fuck contracts Fuck Labels Fuck the music business Fuck my younger self Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck! Fuck everything. Fukkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk!!!!”
The posts have triggered concern on social media, with many urging the Port Harcourt-born artiste to seek help and take a break.
Born Stanley Didia in 1997, Omah Lay rose to fame with his 2019 breakout single ‘Bad Influence’. His 2022 album Boy Alone and its deluxe edition released in 2023 saw him address themes of loneliness and depression.
In a 2023 interview, the 28-year-old admitted he battled depression at the height of his success and poured his struggles into his music. He described feeling “empty and disconnected” despite career achievements.
His hit track ‘Soso’ also reflected his state of mind, with lyrics that echoed his plea for relief from pain.
Omah Lay, who has worked with international stars including Justin Bieber and Ozuna, is yet to clarify the reason for his latest outburst.
