I’m living in fear, Evan Okoro cries out over alleged death threats from husband

Actress Evan Okoro has raised an alarm over alleged threats to her life by her husband, Chibuzor Nwachimelueze, barely four months after their traditional marriage.

In a now-viral video shared on social media, Evan tearfully disclosed that she is living in fear and wants to exit the marriage, which she claims has become dangerous to her well-being.

She alleged that her husband has threatened to kill her if she leaves him.

“I’m living in fear. Something strong is happening to me and if I don’t come out to say it, I don’t know where I’ll be tomorrow,” Evan said.

“My husband is threatening me that if I leave him, he’ll kill me. I’ve written a petition and he’s at the police station right now. I don’t want the marriage anymore.”

The couple had their traditional wedding on April 13, in the actress’s hometown.

However, Evan Okoro stated that her bride price was never paid during the ceremony and that her family reached out to Nwachimelueze recently to request that he formalise the payment, an effort she says yielded no result.

She also accused her husband of marrying her under false pretences, believing she was wealthy due to her home and career status.

According to the actress, the house he assumed belonged to them was one she had built prior to their marriage.

“He married me thinking I have money to send. When he came into my life, I thought it was all love. I saw the way it was going but I still tried to make it work,” she said.

Evan further claimed that since the wedding, there has been no intimacy between them and that her concerns raised with his family were ignored.

“All efforts to rekindle the marriage have failed. Tell him not to harm me and my family,” she added in the video, pleading with the public to take her situation seriously.

The actress noted that she has formally filed a petition against her husband and warned that if anything happens to her, the public should know where to look.
