Actress Opeyemi Aiyeola has reaffirmed her decision to step away from her acting career, stating she would make the same choice repeatedly if given another chance.
The 47-year-old shared a video on Instagram of herself enjoying music in her car, with a bold inscription that read: “Mood everytime I am called failed actress and I see the Mang result of my personal sacrifices.”
In the caption, she wrote: “Walahi if given the opportunity again I will choose to abandon my acting career over n over again. It is my journey, experience, struggles and the rewards sweet me die.”
Her post garnered supportive messages from fans and fellow celebrities, who praised her contributions to Nollywood and commended her for prioritising personal fulfillment over fame.
This declaration comes shortly after a public disagreement with fellow actress Eniola Badmus.
The dispute began when Badmus commented on one of Opeyemi’s Instagram videos, asking, “Ope, where is your front hair?”
Opeyemi perceived the remark as body shaming and expressed her disappointment, highlighting Eniola’s own past experiences with online ridicule.
Although Eniola apologised, Opeyemi described the apology as insincere and added that they were not close enough for such jokes. She later deleted her initial video but maintained her stance on the issue.
