Ijebu urges BBNaija’s Imisi to end feud with mother

Comic actor Olatayo Amokade, popularly known as Ijebu, has called on Big Brother Naija Season 10 winner Imisi Ayanwale to end her ongoing social media fight with her mother.

In a video shared on Instagram on Sunday, Ijebu pleaded with Imisi to seek reconciliation.

“Imisi, I know you are a good girl. The Bible said we should honour our parents. This evening or tomorrow morning, I want you to visit your mother, go on your knees, hold her legs, and tell her you are sorry. Let her pray for you. No matter what she might have done to you, she is still your mini god on earth. After this, I don’t want to hear any dragging again online. If I hear anything again, I will be so mad at you,” he said.

The appeal comes after a highly publicized dispute between Imisi and her mother. Their conflict erupted shortly after Imisi won the N150 million BBNaija grand prize, with her mother claiming she had been abandoned despite Imisi’s earlier efforts to support her financially.

“Before I won BBNaija, I was living my life and you would not even call me in one or two years, so why is there a problem now?” Imisi asked on Instagram. “God knows I tried. I still sent money to you last week and four days ago. Will I kill myself? You cannot remove N1 out of the money I won for anybody’s comfort. I have 100 people in the family looking up to me alone.”

The feud is rooted in Imisi’s traumatic childhood. During the reality TV show, she claimed she was raped twice at age 12 and had an abortion at 13. She also recalled being sent out of her home at 12.

Imisi’s mother has defended herself, claiming her absence during her daughter’s struggles was deliberate and not abandonment. She also asked the public to stop fueling hate and allow the family space to reconcile.
