Disc jockey DJ Cuppy is celebrating Nigeria as the country marks 65 years of Independence today, Wednesday.
Taking to Instagram, the daughter of billionaire businessman Femi Otedola shared a heartfelt message, describing Nigeria as her home, birthplace and country.
Cuppy wrote that she is proud to be Nigerian: “Èmi ni Omo Naija. My birthplace. My home. My country. Nigeria turns 65 today. Through it all, our people keep pushing, persevering, and finding joy even in the toughest times. God didn’t rush when He made us… He gave us resilience, spirit, and endless energy. In my next life, I’d still choose to be Nigerian.”
She has always intertwined her identity with her country. Last year, during Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day, she described Nigeria as her superpower, admitting that while the country faces challenges, it remains a source of hope. She said at the time: “Being Nigerian is actually the superpower of the ‘Cuppy’ brand. No matter where I go, I will ALWAYS carry a piece of Naij with me!”
