Actor Ibrahim Chatta has lost his godson.

The 54-year-old shared the sad news on Instagram on Saturday with a photo of the deceased.

“Inna Lillahi wa inna ileyhi rajiun
Ya Allah, you are the knower of all things.
Rest on, Dear son, champ,” he wrote.

Colleagues and fans took to the comment section to console him.

Jamiu Azeez wrote, “Haaa God, pls have mercy on us. This is too much.”

Joseph Momodu added, “God of nervy.”

Ashabi reacted with crying emojis.

A fan wrote, “OH my god, sorry for this. May God console you and his mother.”

Another added, “So sorry, sir, may his gentle soul rest in peace.”

One sympathised, “God, pls have mercy o.”

Another wrote, “Condolences.”

This is not the first time Ibrahim would experience such a loss. In June, he revealed in an interview that his first child, a baby girl, died due to poverty and lack of medical care.

“My first child is not Malik. The first child I had died. My first child was buried in a crate of Coke, the old wooden crate of Coke,” he said, recalling how he trekked across Lagos to raise money for treatment but got help too late.

Ibrahim’s son’s death comes after Nollywood was also thrown into mourning days ago as actress Peju Ogunmola and her husband Sunday Omobolanle lost their only son Sola Omobolanle at 24.

A statement from the family debunked claims that he died from a bathroom accident, saying he died after a brief illness.

September has also seen other notable deaths in the entertainment industry.

TikTok star Sanku died in a car accident on September 1 while Rwandan gospel singer Gogo Gloriose died on September 3.
