Singer Innocent ‘2Baba’ Idibia has denied reports that he was arrested in London following an alleged altercation with his wife, Natasha Osawaru.
The speculation began after blogger Tosin Silverdam claimed the music star clashed with Natasha shortly after arriving in the UK for a concert scheduled for Thursday, October 2.
He also claimed that 2Baba’s absence from his UK tour was because he was detained on the grounds of domestic violence.
Addressing the rumour on Friday in a video posted on Instagram, 2Baba appeared with Natasha and friends to laugh off the story. One of his associates joked, “Oh boy, dem don alleged you. Allegedly, dem say you way dey here, allegedly, dem don alleged you.”
The ‘African Queen’ singer explained that his cancelled show was due to health reasons and not a domestic dispute.
“First of all, I want to say everyone that came out, I appreciate you. We had a medical emergency, it was tough. To the organizers and everyone that came out, we go regroup and make something beautiful happen. And please, if una no sabi something, make una no talk abeg. This allegedly, I don tire,” he said.
2Baba and Natasha reportedly held their traditional wedding on July 25, months after his separation from actress Annie Idibia.
No police record has supported the arrest claim and 2Baba’s denial has reassured fans who had been worried about the cancelled London show.
