Content creator Mitchell Mukoro, known as King Mitchy, has apologised for her conduct on social media following weeks of controversy.
In a video shared on Instagram on Friday, King Mitchy apologised to Seyi Tinubu, activist Martins Otse, known as VeryDarkMan and Ooni of Ife Adeyeye Ogunwusi.
The dispute began in February after King Mitchy said she renovated a school in Delta State within six days through her charity work.
She said the project received support from Tinubu and music executive Don Jazzy.
Some of her remarks were interpreted online as criticism of VDM, who later accused her of being used to promote the administration of President Bola Tinubu.
The situation drew more attention after King Mitchy posted what she said was a private conversation with the Ooni of Ife on social media.
The controversy increased when King Mitchy appeared in a live video where viewers believed she consumed a substance.
After the video, a statement posted on her Instagram page by her management claimed she had died at Prime Care Hospital.
The hospital later denied the claim, stating that King Mitchy was not admitted to the facility and did not die there.
Her management later withdrew the statement and said she was alive.
In the apology video, King Mitchy said she had reflected on her conduct.
“I’m ready to be held accountable for my actions. For some days I’ve thought about my behaviour and I know that I was wrong and I want to be held accountable,” she said.
She also apologised for the live video.
“For the substance I took on live video, that was very wrong of me because there are young girls who are looking up to me and I know I disappointed a lot of people.”
Addressing Tinubu, she said she wanted to apologise publicly.
“And my boss ST, I’m so sorry. I know I apologised privately but I did not disrespect you privately, I disrespected you publicly so I want to apologise publicly,” she said.
King Mitchy also apologised to the Ooni of Ife while kneeling in the video.
“I’m so sorry for bringing your name into this,” she said.
She also addressed VDM and said she now understood his work.
“You’re fighting for Nigerians and we can make Nigeria a better place and I’m sorry for coming at you like that,” she said.
Earlier, Seyi Tinubu had denied claims that he was involved in the dispute between King Mitchy and VDM.
He said he met King Mitchy once in a public setting and supported her charity work.
