Singer Qudus Oluwadamilare, known as Qdot, has spoken about the lasting impact of a robbery at his Lagos home, saying the experience has left him traumatised and unable to sleep properly.
In a post on his Instagram page on Tuesday, Qdot said the incident happened on September 28, but the fear has not gone away.
“28th of September has passed, but I am still not myself.
The trauma is still alive in me. Every night, at exactly 2:30 a.m. the same time the accident happened I wake up in fear. Sleep has left me. My heart is never at rest. I am scared all the time, and it feels like those people are coming back again.
I pray this painful and terrifying experience will finally release my mind. I pray for peace. I pray for healing. This suffering will only truly end if the government puts in more effort. @lagospolice_cru @lagosstategovt @,” he wrote.
The singer was reportedly attacked in the early hours of September 28 when armed men entered his residence in Lagos around 2 a.m. Qdot and his official DJ were said to have been held at gunpoint during the incident.
The attackers allegedly made away with phones, laptops and other valuables. There were also reports that some of his bank accounts and social media platforms were accessed after the robbery.
Qdot had earlier described the incident as one of the most frightening moments of his life, saying he was unsure he would survive the attack. He later thanked friends, family and fans for the support he received after the incident.
Qdot is known for songs including ‘Gbese’ and ‘Alomo Meta’ and is the head of the Yoruba Boi Music label.
