Actress Regina Daniels has addressed rumours about her personal life and allegations of drug use, revealing that she underwent a drug test abroad.
In a detailed post on her Instagram page, Daniels described the past few months as challenging and a major turning point in her life.
She explained that she took the test to demonstrate accountability, integrity, and peace of mind, saying it was a way to honour the support of her family, friends, and the public.
Regina wrote: “The past few months of my life have been nothing short of heavy. One of those seasons that tries to sit on your chest and ask, ‘So, what are we doing next?’ … After much reflection (and a few very long conversations with myself), I decided to take this test because I owe it to the people who stood by me … Integrity matters. Accountability matters. Peace of mind especially matters.”
She also addressed media claims labelling her a drug addict, saying she reflected deeply on the allegation and concluded that people often project their fears and negativity onto others. “Here’s the choice we all have to make: Do you allow yourself to be defined by other people’s opinions, or do you create your own narrative? As for me, I choose the latter every single time,” Regina said.
Regina stated that the test was taken to clear her name, vehemently denying “any use of hard drugs”. She, however, admitted to using “molly” for reasons she did not name.
“I was never on any hard drugs or any nonsense fabricated online. I will sue at the appropriate time. And honestly speaking, the only drugs I was associated with is ecstasy popularly known as molly. Believe it or not, there was a reason for that,” she said.
The actress added that she is focused on self-discovery and personal growth, thanking God for strength and grace. “I’m still standing, still growing and just getting started,” she wrote.
Her statement comes amid ongoing public controversy involving her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, and unverified reports about her health. In recent weeks, medical reports allegedly showing positive tests for drugs circulated online, but the Abuja rehabilitation facility named in one of the leaked documents denied circulating it.
Family members and others close to Regina have also denied claims of substance abuse and criticised the release of the documents. The debate has drawn wider attention to the couple’s marital dispute, with Daniels and Nwoko trading public statements in recent weeks.
