Actress Iyabo Ojo’s daughter, Priscilla Ojo, has clarified rumours suggesting she got pregnant before marriage, revealing she and Tanzanian singer Juma Jux tied the knot long before their public Nikkah ceremony in February.
The couple announced they were expecting their first child in a video shared on Instagram on Thursday, sparking excitement among fans, friends, and family. However, some social media users speculated that Priscilla might have conceived before the wedding.
Reacting on Snapchat on Friday, the 24-year-old shared a previously unseen wedding photo and stated that the viral Nikkah was not their actual wedding but a celebration with loved ones.
She wrote:
“Womb watchers and calculators, another confusion for you. This was the first time we actually got married after our private introduction last year. We were already married before the Nikkah we posted — that was to celebrate with friends & family.”
Priscilla and Juma kicked off their wedding festivities with a Nikkah ceremony on February 7 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. This was followed by an intimate dinner on February 12 in Lagos, where Juma surprised her with a second proposal and a new diamond ring in front of close friends and family.
The couple later held their traditional and white wedding on April 17 in Lagos. The Yoruba traditional ceremony saw Priscilla clad in a regal aso-oke, while the white wedding was staged at a beachside location. She wore a custom beaded gown by Veekee James and Juma was styled in a tuxedo by designer Mai Atafo.
Their wedding celebration concluded on May 28 in Tanzania, where they hosted a grand reception attended by guests from across East Africa. One of the highlights was Juma gifting Priscilla a brand-new Range Rover, a moment that left her emotional and trended online.
